Red Triangle Lost

My skyscraper is call Red Triangle Lost. It its unique because of its shape. My skyscraper would be used for methods like shopping, restaurants, office space, day care centers, movie theathers, ect. Red Triangle Lost would be located in Washington Park, in Yonkers, N.Y. It would be a good thing for the community and the economy.

Water Colors

On our trip across the Brooklyn Bridge to the Brooklyn Promenade i was very scare because I am afraid of heights and walking that bridge was not cool. Although I did injoyed the view. I had alot of fun in the park. Playing with the water colors and drawing our painting was very fun. I like how everyone behaved well, maybe it was because most of the annoying freshmens stood behind. Overall i had a good time it was by far one of my most favorite trips it was very worth while.

Our goal using Brice was to design a skycraper that was unique. I had never worked with Brice before, so it was a bit of a challenge, but I manage and I have my skescraper. My skyscraper is a mixture of random shapes put together to build one unique design. I had fun building my skyscraper and I injoy myself.

bryce 5.5 skyscraper

Our goal was to design a skyscraper usinig bryce 5.5. I had no idea what kind of building I wanted to create so I decided to use any random shapes. Shaping a skyscraper wasn't easy for me for the strength wasn't good enough to hold the roof to my building. I used many colors for I wanted each shape to have its individual color. I added trees to give my building a natural look yet still be a professional. I had fun playing around trying to make something out of shapes.

Our project was to create a tall skyscraper out of cardboard. I decided to make a animal shelter skyscraper. One of the buildings is shaped of a dog bone and the second building is tall and church style. My main focus would the animal shelter for their thousands of in need for medical help and shelter. My territory is focused on animals so it holds pools, playgrounds, water fountains etc. i wanted to make this land as confttirble it can be for the animals so i even added trees and grass. I was deeply infatuated by this building it was my way of expressing about animals. I am proud of my work and and the effort i had set to this project.

Gehry’s father, Irving Goldberg was born to Polish immigrants in Brooklyn New York. It was a hard life for Gehry at the age 11 when his father died. As he grew older he fought in the streets for money. He later moved to Canada, going from one job to another. After graduating in his profession he slowly worked his way up to success. He sent his sketches to a cross-cultural magazine where they were published. He went to the army with the title of Private First Class. His skills were recognized and they captured many eyes, for it was amazing that such a young architect could create such amazing furniture designs. After people acknowledged his furniture he received more job offers and was commissioned to build many houses, museums, institutes, restaurants, and office buildings. His architectural philosophy was “I approach each building as a sculptural object, a spatial container, a space with light and air, a response to context and appropriateness of feeling and spirit”. Today he is famous for the buildings he has constructed, such as Ontario, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Gehry Residence, Weisman Art Museum, and Dancing house.

Another design would be his personal residence, The Gehry Residence. It was like any other residence at the start until gehry decided to get creative with his home. Chain link fence, corrugated steel, metal, plywood, wood and wood framing was built around the existing house. He chose to wrap the outside of the house with a new exterior while still leaving the old exterior visible. Gehry’s property became very unique. Neighbors were not happy though with Gehry’s unusual building. Some even try to defecate his property as their way of protesting. Personally I feel his architectural style was very interesting for it was very haphazard in design. I am looking forward to see more of his new designs and personally get to meet him.
