One of Gehry’s many designs was The Walt Disney Concert Hall at Los Angeles, California. It is the Fourth Hall of the Los Angeles Music Center. This project was launched in 1987 when Lillian Disney had donated $50 million in the name of her husband Walt Disney. The building was made from cladding steel and the interior was constructed with metal skin. Completed in 2003. It had many problems including economic problems. Residents of the neighboring building suffered significant glare caused by the sunlight that was reflected and concentrated in a manner similar to a parabolic mirror. The concentrated light made some of the rooms very hot, almost up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. The Only solution was to sand the cladding steel in order to reduce the glare. After these adjustments the Walt Disney Hall became a successful design.
