Louis Khan went to the University of Pennsylvania were he was trained in Beaux-Arts tradition. Kahn completed his master’s degree in 1924. After obtaining his master’s degree he traveled through Europe to see the architecture he had studied. He also traveled through Northern Europe and Italy.
One of Louis early works was the Trenton Bath House, which he builds in 1954. Which was neither in Trenton, New Jersey nor a bath house. The bath house open in 1955 it was the entrance and the changing area for patrons of an outdoor swimming pool. Then in 1959 Kahn build the Salk Institute one of his greatest architectural achievements ever. The Salk Institute is located in La Jolla, California and Jonas Salk founded it. It’s a beautiful work of architecture that captures sunlight in a whole new perspective.
