The Metropolitan LIfe Insurance Company Tower was built in 1909 by Napoleon Lebrun and Son's Design. The building or tower is 700 feet tall 213 meters. It has a 50 floor count and it was made of marble and limestone. The color is white and beige, except for the top piece that looks like a crown, which is gold. At first sight of this building, I found it admirable because of its beautiful features, especially the golden part. If I could change something about it, it would be to make the entire building gold. It is a very beautiful building that is now considered a landmark ever since Febuary 6, 1978. Another unique feature about this building is the 4 huge clocks on each side of the building that just tops off its unique style and design. For a short period of time it used to be the tallest building until it was surpassed by the Woolworth Building. In 2002 a new computerized multi-colored nighttime lighting system, kind of like the Empire state Building, was added to it, making it even more beautiful and unique than it already was.
