Roxy Paine was born in 1966 in New York City. She went to the College of Santa Fe in New Mexico and the Pratt Institute in New York City. She lives in Brooklyn. Her work has been internationally known since 1990. Her work in Madison Square Park, New York consists of 3 very unique silver trees. The three sculptures stand out very much in a park surrounded by green trees, not only because of the color of them but because of their design. The three trees sculptures rage in size from 12 to 55 feet. They are made from about 700 metal pipes and rod elements in 30 different diameters. These three trees are beautiful and worth seeing because of many different aspects about them. I especially like how they stand out and how the light shines through the leaves of the sorrounding tress. I find this artist's style and design very very beautiful and interesting and would not mind seeing more of her work.
