Frank Gehry

Frank Gehry was born on February 28, 1929 and raised into a Jewish Family in Toronto, Ontario. Married and divorced to two wives named Anita Snyder and Berta, he had two daughters and two sons. He was known to be a creative child at a young age, encouraged by his grandmother Caplan, with whom he would build little cities out of scraps of wood. Influenced by his grandmother he eventually realized where his passion lied. He studied at Los Angeles City College and eventually graduated from University of South California’s school of Architecture. After graduation he spent time away from the field of architecture and had numerous other jobs, including service in the U.S Army. He studied city planning at Harvard Graduate School of Design for a year, leaving before completing the program
